Galen's "scary scene"

Galen had an assignment for school to write a "scary scene". I may suffer from some bias, but I think he shows promise...

The Night Shack

One unused shack lay forbidden at the edge of the shadowy woods. A simple tire swing rocks gently back and forth; shadows swaying with its motion. The grimy rope strains at the heavy tire it is enslaved to. Pine needles lay scattered on the floor of the shack; dead spiders hidden among them. Legs like broken branches. Click Click of the locking door screams "beware beware". Sad faces of stone angels covered with moss and damp mud. Their faces look down on their locked hands in a silent prayer. Even the wind, once a mighty fist of nature, dies as it comes within the shack's unblinking stare. No creeping rats, or stuttering mice, or even a ghostly presence of a cat. But a wolf-like dog limps eerily around the shack with no motive, home, or master. During the sunlight time of day the night shack retreats to itself and waits for the night to fright again.
