I'm actually still speechless, but I do want to point out that I, like Michelle Obama, have never been prouder to be an American than I am today. The United States will continue to carry the rotten core of our historical racism despite Obama's victory, and this will not end any time soon. But it now appears, at least on the surface, that the servants of our "dirty little secret" have finally dwindled enough for reason to prevail. It is my sincere hope that a national resurgence in the recognition of the value of education ushered in by this new President will help vanquish the ignorance that has allowed this infestation to flourish as long as it has.
